Just now I received the download link of the most awaited web browser of the year; RockMelt the social web browser developed by Tim Howes and Eric Vishria and backed by Netscape founder Marc Andreessen. RockMelt made social networking fans go crazy when it announced that it will have Facebook and Twitter integrated into it. Early snapshots and promotional videos looked promising. But when I downloaded it I was in a shock to see the twin brother of Google’s Chrome, although I knew that RockMelt has been created from Chromimum, but I expected to something more.

RockMelt works with the same speed as Chrome does and it has the same feel. Apart from the Social Media Integration there is no other novelty.
RockMelt’s creators are aware with the fact that Facebook is a life changer; they are aware of the Facebook’s power and reach among the younger generation. Like the hundreds and thousands of Facebook users have found Name, Fame, Money and Jobs with its powerful reach, RockMelt also wants to win the Web Browser race with the help of Facebook & Twitter.

The two big side bars on the right and left side of the Browser window makes the Web pages look small and sometimes the user will have to scroll sideways to see the site fully.
At last I would say that RockMelt has nothing new to offer, except for the fans of Facebook and Twitter. And Rockmelt is only using Facebooks popularity to win in the Browser war. If the users want something new they can try the Epic Browser which has more powerful features than any other browser in the world.
