How to run Window applications on Linux and Macintosh?
Hope you remember my first post and second post which I posted in my friend’s site in which I gave full introduction to everyone about Linux and also gave information about some Linux commands so that everyone can understand Linux easily. This learn with me series part 3 (but this time on my site) for Linux beginners!
You may know that a program written for Linux or Macintosh X will not run under Windows and vice-versa but today while surfing Internet I got a solution to run window applications on Linux and Mac OS X and thought I share with some of my friends. So today in this post I am writing how to run window applications in Linux! To run some window applications you need a third party software known as wine.
Wine is a translation layer (a program loader) capable of running Windows applications on Linux and other POSIX compatible operating systems. Windows programs running in Wine act as native programs would, running without the performance or memory usage penalties of an emulator, with a similar look and feel to other apps on desktop.
