Hello guys! It’s been a long time I have not posted anything. I know, being an editor it’s my duty to be active, but I was busy doing some work of our network with Ankit. Ankit is also being not so active on blogs and social networks these days. It’s almost two-three month, but he hasn’t written anything yet exept the last post. I was just going through the network blogs, I came through a post by Ankit on Passionate Bloggers, the one of the rarely updated blog in our network, though its content is better than any other blog (as I think).

These days Cyber attacks have increased many folds. No one is safe on internet. Hackers, Cybererrorists or whatever you call them! Are growing and even doing the best to make malicious networks worldwide. Nowadays online threats have increased drastically. I remember, last time’s survey I read that it was found that Cyber attacks have nearly doubled in the last year. Each day user faces new viruses and Trojans in his Computic life. Each time while using Net-banking or accessing social accounts on networks such as Facebook, Twitter they get into a dilemma that whether they are safe or not. Even while purchasing stuff online they get worried about the credit card details as we fear some hacker might steal the information. Cyber attacks can be of various types such as stealing account information, credit card information, hacking computers, email accounts, etc. These attacks make us think that we are not really safe on
internet. So, is there a way to protect our self online?

After listening about so many attacks, you might be thinking that only possible solution to it is that we should stop using our credit card online and should close all are accounts , but is running from these things a solution? No! If you are a daily reader of our blog, then may remember that CERT issued high alert for increasing Cyber Attacks in April. So, to help you, our Editor came up with an article “How safe a ‘link’ is?” in which he told how to check a link properly, then later on a guest came up with a post in which he gave Tips for Staying Safe when Buying Online. So, today after such a long time I managed to come online and was free enough so giving you tips to be safe on Internet! So here we go!

• Never give your full name, address, or phone number to person claiming you have won a lottery, don’t ever reply to such emails they are all fraud. You cannot win anything for free so use your brain and dont reply to such emails, they are just a part of online scam.
• Use genuine software, a Windows-cracked version of software are themselves a kind of virus so don’t use cracked software. Go for genuine, stop piracy!
• Install a good anti virus, firewall and anti-spyware so that your computer is protected from most common virus and Trojans. You can use All in one protection software which provide all these stuff. Example of such software is Kaspersky total protection or Bitdefender total protection. You can also download Site Advisor like small apps, which are free and would work well for sure in helping you to check-know if a link is safe to visit or not?
• Also keep your anti virus, other software and Windows updated as new viruses and threats are surfacing every day and these updates provide essential protection against these threats.
• Change your account password regularly, keep changing your password every month and so.
• Try not to use social services such as Facebook and Twitter and your email accounts in cybercafes, though most of you do this. So, if you even do never intentionally or by-mistake do ‘Remember me’ while providing password and after loging out/moving from cyber don’t forget to delete cookies and history from your browser (as hackers can even hack your account via cookie stealing)
• Most of the computers in cybercafe are infected with viruses and other malwares, so avoid using your accounts on those computers.
• Don’t enter your account details in front of anyone else they might see your password.
• Last, but not the least always use your brain before doing anything and try to remain
  updated about various new threats and malwares by reading online journals and magazines.

In last post we talked about three-free Web applications that won’t let anyone get bore and Falling Sand is one and best of them. It’s a great game to play if getting bore and the best thing about it is we can make (actually draw) anything just like we do Microsoft Paint.

Last night while playing it I felt that it could be easily used to create ‘Cool Effected’ images without any Photoshop work. I tried it myself, created an image of a boy frustrated by noise and even published it on Facebok profile. I got many good comments from my friends about the image so, found the trick worth sharing with others.

How to create?

Before getting started, you need to have an access to these:

• Online Image Editor tool.
• 7Capture, any other desktop capturing tool would work too.
• Falling Sand game (of course!)

Steps to create image:

• Visit Falling Sand’s home page.
• Draw any face, character or whatever you like to.

• Once you have downloaded 7Capture too, take a snapshot of the screen (I suggest you that to use it because it’s one of the best and gives a good revolution image, Although you can capture screen shot using ‘Print’ key and pasting it into Paint).
• Now it’s time to save the taken screen shot and upload it to Online Image Editor.
• After uploading to the editor, you have to first crop the main portion of the image so that your browser wouldn’t be visible and after that click on Edit -> Colors and click on the ‘Invert’ option. It will invert the image and give it a neat effect.

Inverting

• That’s all! Your image is created. If you want to add text and other effects you can try the options available on the site.

This summer seems to more boring than the month of March was, being honest I have nothing to these days not even holiday home work. I just keep on wasting my time on Internet by doing something or the other. I have made a list of  top three free Web applications that are pretty cool, different from other applications and I am sure they won’t let anyone to get bore too.

It’s not any place, but a nice game even better than PacMan, which has a lot of levels in it. The game is all based on a key. You will get many hurdles in the game and somehow to win you have to find the key and enter in to next level. The fast you will get the key the fast you will enter into next level. Try it!

Falling sand

It’s one of the best Web applications I have ever seen (yes you can call it a game). In this app sand of different colors flow down just like it’s raining and just like Microsoft Paint, we can easily draw anything on it and best thing is sand will continue to flow, which will give it a damn cool effect. Nice app for artists.

Virtual Girlfriend

Girls are good entertainer in many ways, best thing to not get bore is to make a girlfriend, but I’m sure if you had girlfriend you wouldn’t be here reading this. Yes it’s true that it’s hard for geeks to get girlfriend, but no tension I have come across a flash (.SWF) application is uploaded in which a girl and a search box is present. What you will type in the search box, the girl will be. Isn’t it cool?

Google’s operating system, Chrome Os is already out for developers. According to the reviews I read it looks pretty good and would definitely give a tough competition to Microsoft’s Windows and Apple’s operating system OS X.

I was reading about the operating systems only and came through a really funny image of ‘Windows talking to OS X about the Chrome’ and found it worth sharing with all, after all I didn’t share any funny thing nor any list of wallpapers here too.

iPhone Ultra 4G, an idea. Maybe the next version of iPhone, which Apple launches is similar to this one, but one can’t be so sure about it because it’s just a concept that the company may adopt this design in future to which I came across.

It has some extraordinary features such as sturdy Titanium and Glass casing, an OLED displays for better viewing experience and 64 GB of internal memory so that there is no storage problem and one can store thousands and thousands of songs or hundreds of movies in his or her phone.

It will have a 1.2 Ghz processor for faster computing. The iPhone Ultra might also include a 5.2 mega pixel camera and 4G (fourth generation) connectivity. Besides these features it will also have features such as WiFi, Bluetooth and iPhone OS 2.7.

The battery of the phone would be enough for 18 hours of video playback or 48 hours of audio playback

Looks pretty awesome to me.

Which is better Google Search or Bing Search? Some people might say Google and some might Bing? But, which one is better actually you can’t tell exactly, but yes there are be some differences between them that a normal user couldn’t point out.

Mashable, worlds most popular socialized technology blog, whose search was earlier powered by Google Custom Search, is now powered by Bing. Don’t know why they moved from Google to Bing?

Mashable did not release any reports or information why it shifted their search engine from Google to Bing. Is it because it’s better than Google? Or there is any other reason

there is a possibility that Bing has offered some sort of deal to Mashable (sponsorship) to shift from Google to Bing or maybe Adsense earning wasn’t good enough from Google Custom Search.

Who knows? Still the answer of question, which is better can’t be found out.

Who’s better for ‘Mashable’? Google or Bing? is a post from: Extreme Trix

To provide best service to its users Firefox keeps on releasing new versions with improved security and enhanced features. It also has an open source addons community so that developers can easily design and code addons according to their needs and use and merge them within browser.

Now Firefox will also be available on iPhone, yeah all Firefox fans would be amazed to use there favorite brand on iPhones too. But due to some technical difficulties it will not be available as browser on iPhone, but this application known as ‘Firefox Home’ will let you sync your Firefox desktop client to take your Browser session with you.

This application was developed by Mozilla Labs project called Weave Sync for iPhone would take the place of Firefox on iPhone. It has some great features such as it provides browsing history, bookmarks and tabs from users recent desktop browser session.

Sources say that this application could be in market by next month. Opera also joined the list of Web browsers on the application store a few months ago and it seems Firefox Home is expected to give a tough time to Opera App, since the Web pages would open up in Safari itself, which is the default browser for the iPhone.

Google, an internet giant, which is nearly in every field related to Web, has finally taken control of AdMob; AdMob is a mobile advertising platform. The acquisition deals was announced by Google six months before only, but it was delayed because of Federal Trade Commission (FTC). But now FTC has approved the deal so there is no hurdle in Google’s path to utilise AdMob.

Google can easily utilize it against Apple to gain more popularity and market share as iPhone also released iAds, which is a direct competitor to Google and AdMob. Seems Google is all ready to beat them as it is planning to quickly appoint a new integration team and integrate AdMob technology to their advertising services like Adsense, AdWords to gain an upper edge in mobile advertising.

Just as Google dominates Web advertising through AdSense and AdWords it has similar plans to dominate mobile advertising in coming two-three years, it will be clear who will be the leader in mobile advertising Google or Apple?

Ever wondered how to make your keyboard light blink like  disco lights or glow in a sequence like Diwali lights glow? You can do this by just writing a simple Visual Basic script. Don’t worry I will provide the script, and all you have to do is copy and paste. That’s it and you can turn your ordinary keyboard into disco lights enabled keyboard.

Copy the following script into a notepad, then save that file with an extension “.vbs” (Visual Basic users may already be familiar with it). After that just double click on the new file, with a script like icon and you can see the magic, lights will start glowing in a sequence or randomly.

Did you know Microsoft has a download manager for Web browsers? I am sure not even 10% of the readers know it. As its name says, it enables you to download files like songs, zip files and multimedia, etc., in a more secure and better way just by using your Web browser, but tell me WHY would anyone need it? Though mostly all browsers come with an inbuilt download manager.

This is just like an ordinary download manager. According to Microsoft it is much fast and secure as compared to other download software (they think that they don’t care of security? Bad!) Though I can’t say how it is more secure because it does not have any extra features for security (it does not even support HTTPS extension to download something.. So how can one say it is secure huh?), moreover it does not support Google Chrome, Opera and Safari browsers. It is only available for Firefox and Internet Explorer.

In my opinion there are much better download managers available on Internet, I didn’t expect Microsoft to release such a basic and simple manager to download. If you still want to give it a try, then you can download it officially from here.

Last time I told you about what updates Twitter did last month? And also about the new Retweet page that they introduced (to only some fortunate users), which is very helpful, especially for all who are using Twitter for business. These days Twitter is up to something different.

They are testing three new features and this time in the search page. They have added three new features called ‘Save this search’, ‘Top Tweet’  and added a search box in sidebar too with up and down uptions.

This feature is quite helpful for all who keeps on searching on Twitter for something or another as it gives them an option to save what they have searched and can view it again later on!

This is not of any use as I think. It just counts the number of Retweets a tweet gets and if crosses 90 or 100 it becomes a top tweet.

I think yes! It was a needed feature that was missing from Twitter and did a good job by adding it.
