Determine Objective – You need to determine the purpose of your Landing Page. Whether you want your user to buy something or to fill a form or just download a free report or you only want to direct your traffic to another website. Make them Relevant to your ad copy – Your landing pages should be highly relevant to the ad you are using to attract traffic. PPC traffic is much targeted and is always looking for specific things. It is a good practice to use the same keywords in title and body of your landing pages which you are using in your ad. Your visitor should feel that they are on right place after clicking on your Ad else they would leave your landing page right away.

High Quality UNIQUE Content – A good landing page should high Quality content related to the product and service you are promoting so that your user can learn more about your services. If you are promoting a product of a company then don’t copy content from manufacturer website. Write unique content also you can hire a good copywriter to do this.

Catchy Headline – Headline is the first thing which a user sees on your Landing page. Your Landing page should contain headline which can catch the user attention easily and should speak what your users want to hear. Make your Headline bold so that it can stand out from the rest of your page.

Proper positioning of Call to Action Link – Don’t put your call to action link at the bottom or at place where it is not easily visible. Make your Process Simple – The process you want your users to complete should be as simple as possible. Most of the visitors don’t complete the action before of its complexity and leave it in middle. You should try to provide the shortest and simplest path for your users so that they can complete the action easily.

Reliability Factor – You need to establish a trust factor between your visitors before selling anything to them. Add short positive reviews of the like-minded people on your landing pages. Also you can add logos of renowned companies line BBC, CNN or you can add the awards and recognition your product had won in past to your landing pages to create trust among your visitors.

Testing Landing Pages - Create Multiple Landing pages of same product and do Split testing. Analyze the results to understand which Landing pages convert better. Even a tiny change on your Landing pages can affect your conversion rate a lot So keep tweaking your landing pages until you find an ideal combination.

For a blogger it’s always advised to cover latest updates or news about the niche he is blogging because covering a latest and original update would help him to get organic traffic.

For e.g, – If you are blogging on “Technology” niche, then covering an update about Apple Macbook’s new mouse will give more traffic than covering an update about Microsoft Windows seven. Covering an update about Apple’s new mouse will bring more traffic because it is new and still many people are unaware of it, but covering a review of Windows seven will not bring more traffic to your site because it is an old news and many people have already covered the same.

What to do if you don’t get time spend hours on internet, but want to cover latest and original updates on your blog/site?

I have a solution for all those new bloggers who don’t get time to spend hours on internet, but want to cover latest updates about their niche (which would help them to increase their traffic). You can use Google Alerts and watch new channels to stay updated about your niche.

• News Channels – New channels like IBN 7 and Ajj Tak always show cool news in all niches like technology, shopping, marketing, money making and a lot more. So I will advise you to watch news channels in your free time like while having your lunch.
• Google Alerts – is a very useful way to keep in touch of what’s going around the world. You don’t have to waste your time going to search engines and find something. Just add a Google alert for your favorite topic and Google will automatically email you about the latest information on that topic.

Once you develop a strong foundation in the niche of your own choice, take up a dedicated time of the day (away from any distraction) and just write in. I am damn sure covering latest updates in niche of your own choice would help you to get good traffic in minimum time.

Task – Try Google Alerts for a week and watch IBN 7, cover latest updates from your niche, after a week or two check your traffic and please do let us know via comment.

It has been more than a month since I have written any tip for new bloggers, so today in this post I am going to write some common, but effective tips to monetize a blog or website. If your blog or website is new, then I will recommend you not to use any advertisement for at least a month because putting advertisements might make your visitors feel that you blog only for money. You can start monetizing your blog after a month or two. Here are some tips to monetize your blog -

• Find a most clicked area – Before putting any advertisement in your blog, first find a most clicked area, to find it, place a small badge or image (the badge should be attractive and should match your theme) with analytic code (to track number of clicks) in your sidebar. After a week or two check your analytics and if you find 100+ numbers of click, then this means you can easily make money by putting an affiliate ad there. There are varieties of affiliate ad networks, you can choose according to your niche, here on Extreme Trix we are using HostGator and WidgetBucks affiliate program.
• Advertisement between posts – You can earn a good amount of money by blending Google Adsense,  AdBrite, Chitika or WidgetBucks advertisements in between the – post. If you are using WordPress (self hosted) as your blogging platform, then can easily show advertisements wherever you want on your blog using Advertising Manager plug-in (which is one of the top-10 WordPress plug-ins).
• In-line advertisements – If you get 5000+ daily page views on blog, then In-line advertisements are best way to make money. Here on Extrene Trix we have tried Kontera, AdBrite in-line and currently I am using Infolinks.

Actually previously Blogger was not of Google, it was started by a tiny company in San Francisco called Pyra Labs in August of 1999. There are some bloggers who are blogging on WordPress, but  they don’t even know what is SEO. So today I decided to write an article on SEO and WordPress optimization for better SEO. Before writing any tip, let me explain you first what is it.

Search engine optimization is the process of improving the volume or quality of traffic to a web site from search engines via natural search results. • Meta Title – There is a little difference between the title and the meta title. Title is the heading of your article or post while meta title is the title you want search engine to show in search results.

• Keywords – Keywords should be properly used depending upon your article’s summary as they will be targeting the search results.

Hope till now you guys may be familiar with WordPress plug-ins as I told you about them in  “How to install WordPress plug-ins” post of “Learn WordPress in three days” series, don’t worry if you are yet not familiar with it, I am again going to explain you.

Plugins are PHP based  tools which extend and expand the functionality of WordPress. You can add plugins by just uploading it to your wp-content > plugins folder that is in your WordPress directory. More info.
